Is guacamole healthy?
You heard it here first folks, ok well maybe you didn’t, but it really is one of the healthiest appetizers I can think of, with amazing flavor. Avocados for starters are packed full of vitamins, minerals and they are low-carb! (bonus!) Then just add some red onions, garlic, tomatoes, and spices and there you have it, the most delicious appetizer, perfect for summer!
Avocado Obsession
If there is one food item we always have in the pantry, it is avocados. Did you know an avocado is actually classified as a berry?! And its not a vegetable, its a fruit!?
Avocados are fairly high in fat, but it's the good fat! The type that regenerates and energizes your body from the inside out. They are packed full of vitamins and nutrients mainly consisting of vitamin K, folate, potassium, vitamins C, D, B12, A.
This classic guacamole is an excellent way to serve up some really healthy snacks that taste delicious, without abandoning major flavor.
Pro Tip- Citrus juice prevents avocados from browning. If you are saving a piece of avocado, splash some lemon or lime juice onto it before storing it in an air tight container and it will stay fresh and green for a few days!

Classic Guacamole

- 3 Avocados
- ½ cup Red Onion finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- ½ cup Tomatoes finely diced
- 2 tablespoon Lime Juice
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Dried Parsley or 1 tablespoon fresh
- 1 teaspoon Dried Onion Flakes
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, mash the Avocados.
- Add red onion, garlic, tomatoes, lime juice, paprika, parsley, onion flakes, and salt & pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Cover and refrigerate 2-3 hours before serving.
