This baked honey Dijon salmon is a quick and easy oven-baked dinner made with a simple honey mustard glaze. Juicy, flavorful, ready in under 30 minutes, and perfect for busy nights, meal prep, or an easy family dinner!
Preheat oven to 400°F and line a 9"x13" glass baking dish with parchment paper. Place salmon filets skin side down on the parchment paper.
In a small bowl, add the honey, grainy dijon mustard, extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper. Stir until all of the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Pour the honey mustard glaze over the salmon filets.
Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature is 135°F. After the salmon has finished baking, remove it from the oven and spoon the excess glaze over the top of the salmon. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon or any fresh herbs now. Serve immediately.
Notes
Grainy Dijon - Other mustard options include smooth Dijon mustard or whole-grain mustard. Yellow mustard can be used in a pinch, but it will change the texture of the glaze.
Salmon Filets - Skin-on or skin-off filets can be used for this recipe.
Fresh Lemon - Finishing with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice will balance the sweetness of the honey and enhance the Dijon flavor.
Fresh Herbs - Fresh herbs like dill, thyme, parsley or chives pair beautifully. Add these at the end of baking to preserve their vibrance and for the best flavor.
Make It Spicy - Add red pepper flakes or sriracha to the honey mustard glaze.
If you have time, let the salmon come to room temperature for 10-15 minutes before baking to ensure it cooks evenly.
Line your baking dish with parchment paper for effortless clean-up!
Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
