    Dash of Sparkle April 2020

Hi there, friends! Well, another month has come and gone in this crazy year. April didn’t even feel real… In my mind it is still March, even now when I am writing this (in May) I am convinced, it is STILL MARCH.

There is not much to report over here… I can count on one hand the amount of times I have left the house in the last FIVE WEEKS, how is that even possible?!

If you read my dash of sparkle last month you would know by now that I was temporarily laid off from my day job at the end of March. I have never had this much free time, ever! Even when I was in middle school I was babysitting my younger brother during summer holidays, and in high school I was working. Right after that I started working and I have been working in an office for 10 years, so having this much free time is flat out WEIRD.

It took me a few weeks to adjust to a new schedule and even now I have troubles keeping my brain on track sometimes.

Anyways, being home so much I get A LOT done.

    Veggie Garden

I started my veggies for the year in mid March and I have been all over that. Usually we are in and out of the house as soon as Easter weekend rolls around, so the plants are thriving now that I am able to water them 2-3x per day.

I have high hopes for the vegetable garden this year!

This past weekend we also fixed up the garden in the yard. We deepened the planter boxes and added 30 bags of composted cow manure. I am hopeful that I will be able to transplant the veggies outdoors in the next few weeks.

    Basement Saga

Also, if you have been reading these monthly newsletters, you will know by now that we are developing our basement, by ourselves.

We started this project probably 3 years ago, then we stopped after we put the framing up. Then in January we picked back up on the project and it has been full speed ahead since then.

    AND IT IS ALMOST DONE!!
