Well that was fast… it’s already time for our monthly dash of sparkle newsletter again! February was an action packed month for us at Whipped It Up! We had an explosive month, we celebrated some things, reno’d some more and we were even featured!

The Website
We had our biggest traffic month ever in February (EEEKKK), in fact our traffic was up by almost 60%!!! I have been working around the clock behind the scenes and we have been pumping out a lot of new pinterest content, which is definitely helping in the traffic department.
I have also been pouring hours and hours into optimizing the website and I think it is starting to pay off in the sense that we are starting to see quite a bit of “organic” traffic, which is pretty cool!
We were even featured on Food Bloggers of Canada this past week!
Which was SO COOL! If you’re a food blogger, or any kind of blogger, they have heaps of information on their site that has helped me so much!
Anniversary
On February 6th we celebrated 9 years together and on the 11th we celebrated 2 years engaged! We have started throwing around the idea of what we want a wedding to look like, but nothing has been planned yet.
Alvin’s Jazz Club
To celebrate our anniversary we went to a new restaurant that just opened in our neighborhood called Alvin’s Jazz Club. It was built to replicate a jazz club in New York from the 30’s & 40’s (how COOL is that?!) and it did not disappoint! The live music was amazing and so wonderful to have alongside dinner. The appetizers didn’t wow either of us, but the meal was excellent!
Basement Progress
Ahh the basement reno… of course everything is taking 10x longer than we expect it to, but Eddie has been rocking it! I help out here and there, but he is 100% responsible for all of the hard work and progress down there.
Although, I did help over the weekend. This past weekend Eddie, me, and a friend hauled forty sheets, yes 40 sheets of drywall over our hot tub and into a basement window… and I have the back pain and throbbing arms to prove it!
Book Favorite
It takes a lot for me to mention a book. I love to read, but I can easily push it aside to work on other things so it typically takes me 3 months to read a book. But this book… this book STOPPED MY LIFE. I literally did nothing for about 7 hours and read the whole thing front to back in one sitting.
The book is called “Then She Was Gone” by Lisa Jewell and holy moly, if you like drama/suspense/thriller novels, you HAVE to read this book. I don't want to give anything away, so just take my word for it, and go read it!
What’s new
Banana Oat Blender Muffins
These muffins are the most perfect breakfast or snack on the go! They are SO EASY to make. All you have to do is literally put the ingredients in the blender… It really can’t get any easier.
Blackened Shrimp Taco Bowls
I love these so much. It is the perfect combo of salad, shrimp taco, and spice. The perfect recipe for a busy weeknight.
Spicy Black Bean Chicken Enchiladas
These enchiladas hold a special place in my heart. This was the very first recipe I ever published! After learning so much over the past couple of years I decided it needed a little “face lift”. So I just tidied it up a little bit, and took some new photos. But, it is still the same old delicious recipe!
And with that, we are on to March, spring time, and sunnier days! I hope you had a great month, too!

SPICY BLACK BEAN CHICKEN ENCHILADAS, ya yes, this is so great. Each time I make it the husband asks me to make extra so he can take them for lunch the next day. Sadly there is never ever any leftovers. Haven't figured out the ratio to families members properly yet I guess. Math not a strong subject for me. It is just so good everyone eats seconds till there is nothing left. If you haven't tried this yet it is a must. Cheesy and a little spicy with just the right amount of texture, OH yum now I have to make it again. Love your content, and keep us in the loop on how the wedding plans are coming along.
Take care
