    Real Life

Hi there, Jessica here! Welcome to our monthly newsletter! We are going to be writing little updates reviewing the past month, showing you some of our regular family life, and writing quarterly reviews. I will start out by saying March FLEW by and we had some fun along the way!

At the beginning of the month we took a family trip to Banff, AB & Lake Louise, AB to celebrate a family members birthday. It was a lovely weekend, we went skating at Lake Louise, ate some great food, and roamed the streets of the small mountain town! I for one am not a skater, so I participated for all of 10 minutes, then I changed into my boots and took pictures, much more my style. This was the first weekend we had had since January that it wasn't -30°C, and it was nice to finally get out of the house!

On march 17th, St. Patrick's Day, we celebrated my parents 29th Anniversary. We went out to a local pub, I put my phone away, and I didn't take a single picture. We just talked and laughed with them. It was so fun. It was a good reminder to disconnect for a while, and take time for the people that are closest to you!

On another note, SPRING has sprung! We are so excited. Western Canada had a brutal end to the winter, it was the coldest it has been in 5 decades, for 6 weeks straight! Let me tell you, our electricity and gas bill sure reflected that... But when March 21st hit, it was like someone flicked on the light bulb and it went from being -30°C to +10°C overnight! Bring on summer!

    The blog life

I have been completely enthralled with blogging since I started Whipped It Up back in November 2018 and I absolutely LOVE it. To say it has been a learning curve would be the biggest understatement of 2019. I had zero clue what I was doing when I first started and zero clue how it would completely take over my life and my brain. But I am taking it one day at a time. Learning new things every five minutes, and remembering all of the tasks I have to complete in between. I am so excited for the future.

    First Quarter Review

I figured that I would keep myself accountable and share my quarterly stats with all of you. We don't have much to report yet, but I hope you will find them useful if you are thinking about starting a blog of your own!

I will not sugar coat it. Starting a blog is HARD WORK, and in the beginning it seems like you are going nowhere. On top of pouring every ounce of extra time and brain power into learning and growing your brand. It can be very discouraging, to be working this hard, FOR FREE. I know it will take time for me to write content, gain awesome readers (like you!), and get some traction to move forward.

When I started my blog, I started it with the goal of one day turning it into a profitable business. I didn’t start it as a “hobby blog”, I have a goal, and I will do whatever it takes to make my goals come true!
