Ingredients You'll Need

- Sourdough Bread - Sourdough is the gold standard to serve with cold spinach dip. Hollow out a loaf and use that as the bowl for the dip!
- Ranch Powder - This dip is inspired by spinach dip using Knorr seasoning packets, but instead of that, we use our homemade ranch seasoning for a more delicious, pure ingredient version.
- Spinach - This recipe uses frozen, defrosted spinach. Ensure that the spinach is fully defrosted and squeezed dry using paper towels. Alternatively, you can cook fresh spinach in a skillet with a little bit of water until it is fully wilted. Let the spinach cool completely and drain well before adding to the dip.
- Sour Cream - Can be substituted for plain Greek yogurt.
- Mayonnaise - We love using our homemade avocado mayo for this recipe, but any kind can be used!
- Water Chestnuts - These are completely optional but add a wonderful crunch and texture to the dip.

- Use Kale - Instead of spinach, you can use chopped cooked kale.
- Serve With - Serve this spinach dip with sourdough, crusty bread, garlic bread, crackers or tortilla chips.

Expert Tips For Best Results
- Remove the excess water from spinach. Thoroughly squeeze out as much water as you can from the thawed spinach using paper towels. Excess water will make the spinach dip runny.
- Let the dip chill for a couple of hours or overnight before serving. Chilling it for a few hours or overnight allows the flavors to blend together and develop even more. The extra time also helps the dip thicken slightly, creating a richer, creamier texture.
Storage Tips
Store leftover spinach dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, and give it a quick stir before serving.
Do not freeze. It will change the texture and turn grainy.
