Hi friends! Just like that it is time for our monthly dash of sparkle newsletter for January!

January was a busy month for us, and it seemed like it was about 3 weeks longer than any other month… it started off with really cold weather (-45°c, no, I am not kidding, and it lasted almost 10 days!), and we spent the whole time in our newest reno DIY area.
The Reno’s
We have been on a renovating rampage lately. Just last month we renovated our second floor and swapped out all of the existing carpet for hardwood.
Well, we hadn’t even gotten the tools from that reno put away before we decided that it was time to start on the basement! Our basement has been unfinished since we built this house 6 years ago. After much deliberation, we both decided that Eddie needed a “man cave” of sorts. More like a place where all of his music stuff and guitars can go…
The Blog
While Eddie has been working on the basement, I have been working behind the scenes of the blog. There were alot of things that I needed to implement, change, and do. So for the last month and a bit I have been working on my site speed, optimizing all of the images on the site, and creating expense spreadsheets (SNOOZE!!)
Although it had to be done, I am SO HAPPY that I get to be back in the kitchen now!
New on the Blog
Amongst the renos and behind the scenes blog stuff. I did manage to get a few killer recipes on the blog this month!
Shrimp and Swiss Chard Risotto

Crispy Tofu Bites

We will be back to regular recipes and we have a lot of fun things planned for this year!
